Principal Cloud Architect
Job Description:
- Minimum 8 years' experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, and/or cloud infrastructure roles, with proven experience leading teams and uplifting technical capability across multi-disciplinary engineering groups.
- Strong hands-on cloud architecture background (e.g., designing secure, resilient, scalable cloud-native systems), with the ability to advise product teams and make sound trade-offs.
- Hands-on experience operating in multi-cloud environments (at least two of AWS, Azure, GCP), including designing for portability, identity and access patterns, networking connectivity, and shared observability.
- Demonstrated capability in modern software operations (CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, release management, incident response, reliability engineering), and experience improving operating models for scale.
- Strong grasp of monitoring and observability for cloud applications, with the ability to evaluate and recommend technologies across development, deployment, and runtime operations.
- Track record of setting and implementing engineering standards (security, quality, reliability) and participating in technical hiring through structured interviews and practical assessments.
- Excellent analytical and systems-thinking skills—able to diagnose friction points in complex deployment environments and translate findings into practical recommendations and policy inputs.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including confidence facilitating technical discussions, delivering masterclasses, and presenting to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
- Preferred: Relevant cloud certifications; experience in regulated environments; and prior involvement in organisation-wide platform/architecture governance forums.
