Background

MOE DXD builds AI products and platform capabilities for Singapore's Ministry of Education. The

portfolio includes LangBuddy (a voice-first Mother Tongue learning assistant), Markly (an AI feedback

tool for teachers), AI-enabled procurement workflows, and shared platform foundations that enable

observability, evaluation, and safe scaling of AI systems.

Scope of Work & Responsibilities

1 Design, build, test, deploy, and operate production AI applications across MOE

2 Write high-quality full-stack software using TypeScript, NestJS, React, Postgres, and AWS

3 Integrate LLM and multimodal APIs including prompting, tool/function calling, streaming, voice

interaction, retrieval, and memory patterns

4 Build evaluation pipelines for AI quality, safety, regression testing, and human review

5 Improve observability through traces, logs, metrics, user feedback loops, and model monitoring

6 Develop and productionise AI prototypes into scalable components

7 Collaborate with product managers, designers, data scientists, governance teams, and

stakeholders

Senior/Staff engineers will also lead architecture decisions, mentor team members, define engineering

standards, and represent the team in technical discussions with GovTech and MOE stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

1 Strong software engineering fundamentals including system design, testing, debugging, CI/CD,

observability, and security

2 Experience building production-grade full-stack applications

3 Hands-on experience or strong knowledge of LLM application development

4 Understanding of AI system quality including evaluations, monitoring, and failure modes

5 Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

1 Experience with TypeScript, NextJS, React, Vite, Postgres, AWS, Langfuse, or OpenTelemetry

2 Experience integrating AI services such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar APIs

3 Knowledge of RAG, tool calling, agentic workflows, voice interfaces, or AI evaluation frameworks

4 Familiarity with education, public-sector systems, or high-trust digital services

Onshore (Singapore-based)
